Today, Emerald AI has been selected as a 2026 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

Emerald AI is among a global cohort of companies tackling the world's most pressing challenges. For us, it's a clear signal that power flexibility, not simply more power, is becoming central to scaling AI innovation all while building a reliable grid.

What this means for Emerald and how we’re scaling

The pace of AI’s growth is running into the physical limits of grid infrastructure, holding back innovation and driving up energy costs for communities. And the solution can’t come from adding supply alone, and it’s exactly why we are building Emerald AI.

The Emerald Conductor platform introduces flexibility to the fastest-growing source of new electricity demand, AI data centers. It dynamically interacts with local power grids, pausing AI workloads or routing them to a different area during times of grid stress, then ramping back up when capacity is available. This past year, our team has demonstrated this in five live commercial deployments across Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Oregon, and London.

The Technology Pioneers community is part of the Innovator Communities at the World Economic Forum, which convene the world's leading global start-ups across different growth stages from early-stage Technology Pioneers to growth-stage Global Innovators and unicorn companies valued at more than $1 billion.

This recognition is another stepping stone in our mission to turn AI data centers into flexible grid assets, using real-time workload orchestration to let facilities adjust energy use in support of grid stability, with no compromise to AI performance.

A quote from our founder

“AI data centers are too often cast as a threat to the grid. At Emerald AI we’re proving there is another flexible, sustainable, and readily-available path forward. Being named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum tells us the world is ready for our solution, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team as we continue building this path forward.” — Varun Sivaram, Founder and CEO, Emerald AI
