Ben works on grid-facing products at Emerald AI. He was previously Director of Solution Architecture for data centers at Scale Microgrids where he helped start the data center vertical, led large on-site power system design and optimization, and supported strategic procurement with generation and BESS providers. He also introduced new commercial structures and technology partnerships for the non-data center market. Ben has worked at the nexus of product design, engineering, business development and regulation in the energy world for over 10 years, including as an energy industry analyst at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, in strategic product management roles at Rivian, SunPower and Scale Microgrids prior to his move to the data center vertical. He started his energy career developing a vertically integrated utility microgrid company in Haiti. Ben holds a BA in philosophy from Princeton University.
