Brian Kulis is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University, with additional appointments in Computer Science, the Division of Systems Engineering and the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences. His research broadly spans machine learning and applications to computing systems, including work with Emerald Chief Scientist Ayse Coskun on anomaly detection and resource prediction for production high-performance computing systems. He was previously an Amazon Scholar with Alexa AI and an assistant professor at Ohio State University, and held the Peter J. Levine Career Development Professorship at Boston University. He received his PhD in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and his undergraduate degree in computer science and mathematics from Cornell University. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award, and was named one of the world’s top 100 most influential machine learning scholars in 2019 by AIMiner.
